Medical Assistant

Duties and Responsibilities: Medical Assistants help physicians and nurses deliver patient care. They schedule appointments; take blood pressures, respiration's, temperatures; and perform other routine patient pre-examining procedures. Sometimes they help with office and clerical tasks. Medical Assistants work in hospitals, clinics, and private physician offices.

Average Salary: $17,000-$18,000

Education: Students should complete high school with courses in biology, physical science, office management, communications, and human relations, although medical assistance training programs may accept GED certificates. Medical Assistance training programs are provided by community colleges for-profit technical training schools. They may take between six months and two years to complete.

                                                   Licensed Practical Nurse (LPN)

Duties and Responsibilities: Licensed Practical Nurses work with and under the direction of registered nurses and physicians. They care for injured, handicapped, and sick patients. Their duties include taking temperatures, blood pressure, and pulses. They also give injections, change dressings, and help give patient baths. In general they care for patients in hospitals, nursing homes, and extended care facilities. Some practical nurses work in private homes.

Salary:$16,000-$23,000

Education: Although a High School Diploma or GED certificate is not always required, it is encouraged. LPNs do not have the extensive professional education that is required for a registered nurse. State approved training programs are offered by the hospitals, vocational schools, junior colleges and private schools.

He held the record for most wins as head coach collegiate history with 323 wins. He was also known for his trademark black and white hounds tooth or gingham hat and many other things.

                                                           Industrial Hygienist

Duties and Responsibilities: Industrial Hygienists evaluate health hazards, conduct health risk assessments, manage industrial or business health programs, and provide consultation. They may be administrators, researchers, consultation or teachers. Many work as part of an industrial or government team, although some have private practices. They often see samples and perform laboratory analyses

Salary: $40,000-$60,000

Education: Students should take college preparatory courses especially in mathematics and science during high school. A career in industrial hygiene requires a minimum of a Bachelor’s degree in occupational health and safety, environmental health engineering, or the physical sciences.

                                                                  Home Health Aid

Home health aides usually work for companies that provide in home assistance to ill, injured, elderly, or disable customers. Their duties  include taking the blood pressure, temperature. And pulse of patients. They help patients get in and out of bed, take baths, and dress. They also prepare and serve meals as well as perform housekeeping chores like making beds and cleaning rooms.

Salary: $8,000-$18,000

Education: Most employers prefer that nursing assistants and aides have a high school diploma or GED certificate. Some vocational schools and community colleges offer training programs.
