I think Og Mandino is trying to say that in order for anyone to succeed than we all have to persistence in order to succeed. If you don't have persistence and just give up then you wont succeed on the goals that you have. For example if you wanted to get straight A's in all of your classes then you would need persistence in order to succeed and get straight A's but if you gave ip and didn't try then you wouldn't get any A's just giving up that is why you need persistence to succeed.

                                                 

                                                         Perfusionist

Duties and Responsibilities: Clinical perfusionists operate circulation equipment during medical sistuations when it is necessary to temporarily and artificially the person’s circulatory or respiratory functions. This occurs during heart surgery and similar operations. Perfusionist also control the temperature of patient’s during surgery.

Salary: $50,000

Education: A high school diploma with a strong background in biology and chemistry is required to be accepted in perfusionist training programs. Admissions preference is given to students with college science work or experience in respiratory therapy and terminology.

Reflection: I don't think i would like to be a Perfusionist because i wouldn't be interested.

I think that President Calvin Coolidge is trying to say that persistence can never be replaced by anything else. Not Talent, Genius, or Education. If you want to be successful then you have to have determination and persistence and then you can achieve whatever you want. For example if you want to get good grades in classes then you have to be determined to get that A.

Duties and responsibilities: Patient Representatives work with healthcare administrators to address the concerns and special needs of patients and their families. They evaluate patient satisfaction, investigate complaints, collect information about patient dissatisfaction, work with departments to resolve patient problems, and educate staff.

Salary: $20,000-$40,000

Education: Students should take challenging high school courses in business, science, math, and English. Requirements differ, but most employees prefer college graduates with backgrounds in health or social services.

I think Matt Biondi is trying to say that if you ever want to obtain achievement and succeed you need to have persistence.Even if you consider yourself a failure you can change that because with persistence you can achieve anything. For example if you wanted to try out for the basketball team and you tried and didn't make it on the team don't just give up keep on trying and trying and eventually you will be on the basketball team.

Duties and Responsibilities:  Osteopathic Physicians use accepted methods of diagnosing and treating injuries and diseases. Although they practice in all branches of medicine and surgery like allopathic physicians they differ by emphasizing the importance of the musculoskeletal system, holistic , medicine, proper  nutrition, and environmental factors in maintaining good health.

Salary: $110,000

Education: Students should take the most challenging high school courses available in math. Science, and English. After three or four years of college, prospective physicians must attend medical school.

I feel that these questions really make you think about yourself and how others look at you and how you look and treat other people. It makes you think if you can successful in life by doing your very best and if you can be trusted with responsibilities.

Duties and Responsibilities: Optometrists treat vision problems. They treat the problem by diagnosing the problem and prescribing corrective eyeglasses, contact lenses, or vision therapy. Some optometrists specialize in industrial vision safety, Treatment of vision, related learning disabilities, and environmental vision care.

Salary: $78,000

Education: Students becoming interested in becoming an optometrist should take the most challenging high school courses available in math, science, and English. Before entering an optometry school at least two years of college in a pre-professional program is required.

Reflection: I think i wouldn't want to become an optometrist because i am not interested in what an optometrist does.

John F. Kennedy basically said that in order for the citizens and the country to be strong we all have to be physically fit. That means that all the mothers, fathers, and children have to all gather together and exercise. This is how we can make our country better by making our citizens healthier and stronger. One way i can make myself into a better healthier person and get physically fit is to first of all eat healthier. Another way i can get physically fit is to stay away from drugs because they are going to harm me. And the last is to exercise and those are the ways i can become physically fit.

I think this quote means that intelligence and skill can only function when we are healthy and strong. Now that just doesn't mean physical fitness but also the mind. Your mind has to be healthy. It is very difficult and not very much is known but we do have to be healthy and strong to show our intelligence.
