Recreation Therapist
Duties and Responsibilities: Recreational Therapists plan,
direct, and coordinate recreation based treatment program for people who have
disabilities, injuries, or illnesses. Recreational therapists use a variety of modalities
including arts and crafts, drama, music, dance, sports, games, and community reintegration
field trips to help or maintain or improve a patient’s physical, social, and emotional
well being.
Salary: $42,280
Education: Recreational Therapists usually need a bachelor’s
degree in therapeutic to qualify for a position. Graduate degree programs are available
for students in the field. A Therapeutic recreation degree program includes
course work in anatomy, human behavior, assessment and documentation, clinical
procedures and health psychology.
