I think this quote means that you should always choose the right no matter what. There is no excuse or reason on why you should be choosing the wrong. For example if you saw people who were doing drugs and they told you to do some with them choosing the right would be to not do the drugs and stay away from them but choosing the wrong would be to do those drugs so you should always choose the right.
