I think Matt Biondi is trying to say that if you ever want to obtain achievement and succeed you need to have persistence.Even if you consider yourself a failure you can change that because with persistence you can achieve anything. For example if you wanted to try out for the basketball team and you tried and didn't make it on the team don't just give up keep on trying and trying and eventually you will be on the basketball team.
